CAMO IS SO OVER…NOT

Getting tired of that camo jacket you bought a couple of seasons ago? Don’t! Fashionistas in Milan, New York, Copenhagen and Frankfurt gave their jackets a creative update this spring. Whip stitch treatments, embroidery, patches, decals and furry pompoms accounted for a “made by hand” individual look whereas all-over rivets definitely added a street smart vibe.

Camo keeps on going forward in new abstracted print versions, on metallic fabrics, in accessories, in shoes.

A lightweight metallic camo-patterned tote bag by ANDI is a great summer accessory addition. In Copenhagen a short zip front jacket in a laundered camo pattern also incorporates this season’s graphic trend on the sleeve.

Milan Street/Imaxtree

In Milan camo got dressed up with a longer hemline skirt worn with heels or dressed down as a mini dress worn with knee-high boots. Note large key dangling of the belt, proof that anything can be updated with new accessories!

In fact, we are still bullish about camo for next spring. We saw plenty of material proposals for shoes and handbags, from leather to mesh and canvas at the trade fairs, all featuring re-coloured and re-designed versions of the still-favourite camouflage pattern.
